Serene Seldovia Cabin

Great place to unwind and watch nature unfold. Positive: Location and view. We saw bald eagles fishing right from the window. Quaint, quiet town. Negative: It rained 75% of the time (obviously not the hosts fault). Very limited restaurant choices, again not the hosts fault, but since you have to haul your own food on a passenger ferry and this place has no cooktop it has to be a consideration.

Wish I had stayed another day! Great location.

Sean's place is great! Very private, serene setting to watch the tide come in and out, view sea life and relax. We were fortunate to see otters and eagles up close! The home is sparsely furnished but adequate. The outside decks and railings are in need of maintenance due to the extreme weather conditions, but safe. There are several steps down to the home, which could be a challenge for elderly or young children. We arrived on the ferry thinking we could walk with our luggage to the home but discovered it was a fair distance to the house. A friendly local gave us a ride. I would suggest taking a taxi if you have more than a backpack. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Seldovia. We did two great hikes, picked Salmon berries, ate and the two local restaurants and took in the local sites.

Absolutely beautiful location on the water. Could see otters from the lower living room area. Bathroom was very very clean. Highly recommend.

Sean was a great host! He was super responsive and helpful. He even let us drop off our bags before checking in so that we didn’t have to walk around town with them. The cabin is super cozy and the views are STUNNING. Sitting on the deck was my favorite - a seal even greeted us when we first arrived! :)

Sean was an exceptional host! Due to unforeseen circumstances we missed our ferry and were not able to make our stay. When I messaged Sean, he offered to host us again on the next dates he had available that we could make! He did not have to do that at all. We appreciate it very much! Over the top hospitality!

We loved our honeymoon stay at this cabin!! It was right on the water with the best wildlife views, close to town for dinner/coffee/trails. You can walk from the ferry drop off about 10ish min, or taxi if you need. Very comfortable bed and we loved sitting on the porch. Highly recommend for your stay in Seldovia :)

Great stay! Certainly be in communication with the host prior to touching down in Seldovia and know where you’re going! Beautiful view overlooking the Slough and a comfy bed in a rustic loft / apt unit.

Quiet area, by the slough, watch the tides come in and out, fish jumping, birds singing! There are three sets of stairs and stairs in rental. It's at least 1/2 mile to harbor. Golf cart rentals in town if you have lots of luggage or family that can't walk far. Taxi service also. Airport nearby and local fast ferry to get to and from Homer. I do highly recommend, but watch your step. Cabin had everything needed! I look forward to returning!

Great place to stay!

Our trip was unforgettable. The entire place was floor to ceiling windows from the living room to the bedroom, allowing for you to take in the amazing views from anywhere. We got lucky with perfect sunny weather allowing us to lay out on the deck and read. When you stay though, make sure to close the blinds in the afternoon as it can get hot with the sun, but it quickly cooled down after we opened the windows again. I was worried about the stairs, but honestly my elderly parents and I did fine. If anything being down lower allowed for a more private experience. Haley was very accommodating and willing to help with whatever we needed, too! Offering to carry our luggage down and dropping by with extra sheets and pillows.

We enjoyed our stay. The views are amazing and the cabin was clean and cozy. We couldn’t find much in town for breakfast— restaurants don’t open until 11, so plan accordingly. We found a great hiking trail and also hiked down to the beach. A great Alaskan experience!

We really enjoyed our night at Sean’s place right on the slough—our front row seat to the changing tides and wildlife was incredible! Haley, the housekeeper, was super friendly and flexible with us—she really made our stay feel special. The whole experience here was super cool!

I can’t put our experience in words! Haley (the incredible housekeeper) was our main contact and did everything she could for us! Exactly as described, serene little cabin on a perfect slough with great game choices, and clean. If you have toddlers just watch them near the railings and on the stairs! Highly recommend. Can’t wait to come back

This is an adorable, waterfront Airbnb that I have visited several times. It’s charming, has all the amenities you need, and the view is breathtaking! Highly recommended!

Serene relaxation! Positive: Right on the Seldovia Slough. Being able to watch the tide come in/go out was so relaxing. Negative: At our age, the stairs were probably a little too much.

What a great place to stay. Beautiful setting and close walking distance to everything. Enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it to others.

Don’t stay here ;) We want it to be available anytime we want. It was awesome. Perfect location for flying in for a night or two. Will be coming back for sure. A+

Very cute place with beautiful surroundings! We were entertained by five young river otters in the morning. There are quite a few stairs leading down to the place, so pack light.

Lovely spot for a quiet weekend. Location was perfect, close to town, within walking distance of everything you’d like. We had great views of all the wildlife Seldovia had to over. We highly recommend.

What a wonderful place to disconnect and contemplate. The unit is a small, comfy, whimsical space that offers everything you need with little effort on your pat. Otters, bald eagles and other flying/swimming neighbors will entertain you through the large window gallery. In town, the locals will seduce you with their energy, enthusiasm, and zest for life.

Wonderful small cabin right in the water. We even had “our own” sea otter come by each morning and evening. The cabin is small but worked well for my husband and I on a 3 night visit. We loved its location and scenery out the large windows. Very clean. Sean was responsive to questions and needs. Note that there are a lot of steep stairs accessing the cabin - was not an issue for us but could be for some.

5 stars for location! Easy to get to and from the ferry and Main Street. 5 stars for the views and wildlife right outside! Amazing! 5 stars for it’s charm and cleanliness….very quaint and quiet! Note: the listing mentions lots of stairs, which is true, along with low ceiling bedroom loft. Not an issue for us, but others might find it a problem. Packing light is recommended. Also, wifi connectivity was very weak. Not sure if it was the service in general or the BnB, but if you need connectivity for work, etc., it’s worth noting.

This cabin was breathtakingly amazing. The cabin had everything we needed and was very clean. The views were so beautiful we felt like we didn’t even need to leave the cabin. Hiking trails were a short distance away and they did not disappoint with more breathtaking views of Seldovia. Sean was very informative and made booking, check in and check out so easy. This stay well exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful and peaceful location with ample porch seating or picture windows to enjoy the surroundings with a morning cup of coffee. Comfortable and clean with a sweet and helpful hostess, Haley. We lucked out with perfect weather! Can’t wait to return!

Aptly named, Serene Seldovia Cabin was delightful. The broad windows gave endless views of the tides moving back and forth between sea and land. The cabin was clean, cosy, and comfortable, offering all we needed except coffee. My only complaint was lack of reading lights near the bed. So, bring your own coffee and a headlamp.

We had a wonderful time - Sean's place is really special and was a lovely stop for us for a few days on our honeymoon. The property is very peaceful and the huge windows and outdoor space made for great wildlife watching. It was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.

We loved staying at Sean’s quaint waterfront cabin. It was the perfect romantic getaway location for us. Watching the tides rise and fall was mesmerising. It was an easy walk to everything in Seldovia. We would definitely stay there again.

This is a great place with an even greater view, it’s probably the most scenic place I’ve ever stayed at. It’s within walking distance of the ferry terminal and close to hiking trails.

Killer little place on the slough- peaceful and picturesque. Town is as good as I remembered it and worth a visit! Thanks to Sean and team for making our last minute stay a great one!

This cabin has a beautiful view! It is located on a slough with drastic tide swings. Absolutely gorgeous at high tide as the photos show. It is an easy 10 - 15 minute walk into town. Stairs down to the cabin which could make it challenging if you are traveling with an elderly family member. The hosts were very responsive and allowed us to check in early. Perfect spot for a peaceful and relaxing weekend!

We had an unforgettable stay at this incredible waterfront cabin. The location is nothing short of spectacular, with eagles flying past our windows constantly—a truly magical experience. Overlooking a picturesque alaskan bay. The cabin itself is very comfortable and well-appointed, providing the perfect setting for relaxation. We rented a golf cart for convenience, but we found that everything we needed was within walking distance, making the location even more enjoyable. Our stay was seamless, with no issues whatsoever. The cabin’s tranquil atmosphere and stunning views allowed us to unwind and fully appreciate the natural beauty surrounding us. We highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable getaway in Seldovia. We can't wait to return!

Darling cabin with spectacular views. We absolutely loved our stay and are looking forward to returning! Note: Lots of stairs to the cabin and narrow stairs with low ceiling for loft bedroom. Not a problem for us, but critical for info for some. Generally, good to be aware for packing purposes as well.

This place was the perfect peaceful getaway. Such a relaxing cabin to watch the tide come in and out. Extremely easy to walk in and out of town within minutes. Sean and Haley were extremely helpful and reached out to make sure our stay was going well! Even had the house loaded with coffee. Such a friendly town with very helpful residents. 100% will stay here again! Such a fun experience!

Cabin had great location on the Slough for relaxing and watching tide go in and out. Walkable to restaurants on Main St and historic boardwalk, as well as Rocky Ridge and Otterbaun hikes. Cabin was cozy and had perfect peaceful vibes. Great stay!

A beautiful cabin in a beautiful and unique setting! Private and yet amidst a community on the water and walkable to the little historical boardwalk and Main Street. Incredible picture windows lookout onto a little inlet.

Great place beautiful location friendly host!

Very cute place! Drank coffee on the deck while watching eagles get their breakfast. Short walk from the docks if you take the ferry, and same distance to Main Street where the restaurants are. Haley, the housekeeper, was extremely helpful and very responsive. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful location!

What a gem!! We had such a nice stay. I let Sean know ahead of time that I would be proposing to my girlfriend while staying there. He took the time to have a memorable ornament made in remembrance of our special time. The people in town were super awesome too congratulating us and buying us deserts etc. Seldovia is already a special place, but Sean’s place makes it Superb!!
